The structure of treatments at Full Circle are as follows:

Initial treatment- 90 mins.

Completion of Initial client form.

Together we explore your history and gather a broad range of information. Chinese medicine uses a combination of methods to reach a diagnosis.

Observation- Of manner, physical appearance and tongue diagnosis is performed.

Palpation- The radial pulse is felt on both sides and meridans and acupuncture points are pressed to gain information about your condition.

Questions- These vary quiet broadly in Chinese medicine, some can be strange and others rather rudimenatry. Questions are used to validate the findings gathered from observation and palpation inquiry.

A Chinese medicine diagnosis is formed from the information gathered and a treatment plan created.

Diet and lifestyle is discussed and where relevant suggestions are made to improve health outcomes based on the client making necessary changes.

The client receives a treatment in accordance with the Chinese medicine diagnosis reached. This will vary depending on the individual condition, presenting patterns, season, constitution etc. Generally one of more of hte following: acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha or massage. On completion of the treatment patients are often prescribed a herbal formulation to further support the treatment aims, to be taken daily at home. In addition there may be dietary and lifestyle suggestions, supplements, movement practices and other suggestions made to be followed up away from the clinic.

Your commitment to being proactive in your own healing is essential for clients who work with Danielle.

Subsequent treatments- 60 mins

Involve a short discussion to check progress of treatment and gather any new information that may be present.

If any changes need to be made to the existing diagnosis and subsequent treatment principle- these are applied.

You receive dietary and lifestyle check in (from both Chinese and nutritional medicine perspectives).

Then each visit you receive your own individualised treatment, generally consisting of acupuncture. Sometimes with the addition of cupping, moxibustion, gua sha or massage as appropriate.

How long do I require treatment?

The length of treatment will depend on the severity of your condition/s, whether these are chronic or acute and your response and adherence to treatment.

A broad idea that some suggest is- for every year of illness, a month of treatment.

A potentially reasonable goal (depending on the condition) for someone who has been quite unwell for 5 years may be: 5 months of treatments, reliably once a fortnight- following dietary and lifestyle guidelines and consistently taking the prescribed herbal formulation.

It is best to not wait until you are ill to seek Chinese medicine, but rather to focus on prevention and health maintenance. Chinese medicine was designed to keep people well in ancient China, so regular treatments are a great way to keep ahead of dis-ease and stay optimsed and happy!
